Safely into the future: safety components

For decades, the GPE Group has operated in the field of safety engineering for renowned producers of occupational health and safety and personal protection solutions.

Here, too, all of our efforts have a direct impact on wellbeing and the safety of human life and are aimed at improving and protecting quality of life. Perfection and reliability are of the highest priority.

The GPE Group develops and produces components and systems for occupational health and safety and personal protection both in the professional and the private field of use. For years, international market leaders in safety engineering have relied on the experience and expertise of the GPE Group.

Below is a small extract from the GPE Group's extensive production range.

CASE

FIRE BRIGADE

For the right equipment in order to protect and save other people's lives. To fulfil the highest requirements and to satisfy them in deployment and to facilitate deployment; the GPE Group faces this responsibility with joy and vigour every day. We produce components from high-performance plastics with special requirements for use under extreme conditions.

Development and design:

Implementation of the design and functional specifications in processes appropriate to production under consideration of all safety specifications.

Production, assembly and logistics:

  • Components for fire brigade and hazardous substance deployment

  • Face masks and breathing protection connectors for fire brigade masks

  • Different variants of visor frames

  • Panoramic visors for hazardous substance suits

Key challenges:

  • Heat resistance and chemical resistance of the plastics used

  • Extremely high dimensional requirements of the individual components.

CASE

MOTORCYCLE HELMET

For personal protection in the private area of use, the GPE Group produces highly complex components for full face motorcycle helmets.

Development and design:

Implementation of the design and functional specifications in processes appropriate to production under consideration of all safety specifications.

Production, assembly and logistics:

  • Plastic injection moulding of components for the visor mechanism and ventilation systems

  • 2-component injection moulding of face frame

  • Modular assembly.

Key challenges:

  • High requirements for safe catch function of the visor mechanism

  • Dimensional and denseness requirements for face frame and visor.

CASE

OFFSHORE INSTALLATIONS

The GPE Group also provides support on the high seas in the event of an emergency with components and systems for occupational health and safety and personal protection.
With a rescue system for oil rigs, the oxygen supply of the staff is ensured in the event of
an emergency in order to reach the rescue area with a special hose dispenser system.

Development and design:

Implementation of the design and functional specifications in processes appropriate
to production under consideration of all safety specifications.

Production, assembly and logistics:

  • Production of sheet parts including surface finishing and varnishing

  • 3 variants with 1-fold, 2-fold and 3-fold hose reel

  • Complete assembly and full, electrical and pneumatic testing and certification.

Key challenges:

  • Sea water resistance of the design and surface
  • Module construction method
  • Electrical testing requirements for functional heating of breathing air under extreme climatic conditions.

CASE

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

For occupational health and safety, the GPE Group produces items such as filter inserts for breathing masks. Here, the focus is on protection from hazardous gases and particles.

Development and design:

Implementation of the design and functional specifications in processes appropriate to production under consideration of all safety specifications.

Production, assembly and logistics:

from a wide variety of plastics.

Key challenges:

High geometric dimensional requirements and narrow tolerances.
